Hawks return to winners circle with victory over Adelaide

The Illawarra Hawks have roared home in the fourth quarter to beat the Sixers 98-89 at the NBL Cup in Melbourne.

Both teams entered last night’s clash in dire need of a win having lost five of their past seven games.

But with the scores level after three quarters, it was the Hawks who broke through for a morale-boosting victory,y outscoring the Sixers 26-17 in the final period.

Tyler Harvey paced Illawarra with 24-points while Deng Adel (19) and Cam Bairstow (14) combined for 19-points in the fourth quarter to see the Hawks improve their season record to 7-5.

Hawks guard Justinian Jessup was also solid with 12-points and four rebounds.
