At least 20 firefighters have prevented a 14-foot yacht from sinking in Wollongong Harbour on Thursday morning. Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called to the harbour just after 9.45am to reports the vessel was taking water. Firefighters put booms in place to contain any potential spill, and worked to pump water from the yacht in order to keep it afloat, a Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said. No one was injured in the incident, and crews were able to successfully remove water from the yacht, refloating it just after 11am.
